New Tai Chi class coming to Redditch

Redditch Editorial 14th Feb, 2024 Updated: 23rd Feb, 2024   0

REDDITCH people seeking to improve their health and well-being are in for a treat as new Tai Chi classes have started in Redditch.

Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese martial art, is renowned for its holistic approach to health, combining gentle movements, meditation, and deep breathing exercises.

The class takes place at The Bridge Community Hall on a Tuesday morning at 11am each week.

Leader of the Council, Coun Matt Dormer, said: “Taking time to be mindful during your day can have a massive positive impact on your overall mental wellbeing and this new Tai Chi class gives residents the opportunity to do just that, whilst also getting physically active.

“Classes such as these are vital to our residents, they give people the opportunity not only to improve their mental and physical wellbeing but also to socialise and meet new people in safe environments.

“Creating opportunities for communities like this in our town is so important and I am delighted that this new opportunity has been created for people to get fitter and practice mindfulness in a safe and inclusive setting.”

Supported by the Redditch Borough Council, the classes will be led by Juanita Ochoa, a local independent fitness instructor with over 15 years of experience in delivering specialised health classes.

Classes are £5 a week on a pay as you go basis and there is no need to book.
