AN ARTIST from Redditch is auctioning off the portrait she painted of Sir Lenny Henry as part of Sky Arts Guinness World Record attempt.
Last October, Sandra Wadkin was one of 1,000 artists invited by Sky Arts to join scores of other painters for the challenge – to complete a portrait of the Dudley comedian in under 60 minutes.
The attempt was part of the celebrations to mark ten years of the Sky Arts show Portrait Artist of the Year (PAOTY).
After having Sir Lenny sign her painting, Sandra decided to auction it off, to raise cash for Comic Relief.
She said: “Taking part in the record attempt was amazing, and a wonderful experience.
“I wanted to give back, so decided to auction off my portrait on EBay.”
Sandra is running a seven day auction, starting on Thursday, March 7.
