TWO grassroots sporting projects in Redditch are to benefit from a new round of Government funding.
Kingfisher Youth FC will receive £1,740, whilst Feckenham Football Club will benefit from £4,499 in new funding.
The Government’s multi-sport grassroots fund is investing in areas most in need, with at least 50 per cent spent in the most deprived and inactive local authorities.
Redditch MP Rachel Maclean has welcomed the news Redditch will benefit from thousands of pounds in new funding as a result of the Government’s long-term investment in grassroots sports.
She said: “There is a clear link between feeling your best, both mentally and physically, and exercising regularly.
“That is why I welcome the news the Government is helping people across our constituency get active by investing £6,239 into our grassroots sports facilities.”
She added the government was sticking to its plan to make sure everyone could access areas they needed to live an active and healthy lifestyle, ensuring a brighter future for all.
