Redditch NightStop in appeal for more hosts as new HQ opens

Redditch Editorial 2nd Mar, 2018   0

ANYONE interested in supporting the homeless charity NightStop or offering to be a host for them is invited to the grand opening of their new headquarters in Redditch.

The charity offers support, mediation and overnight accommodation to young people aged 16 to 25 who may have experienced homelessness due to parental break up, bereavement or trouble at home.

Next Friday, March 9, marks the opening of their new HQ at Britten House in Britten Street, situated off Bromsgrove Road by the town centre.

The occasion also marks the charity’s 21st anniversary and during that time it has won backing from a wide range of businesses, fund raisers and individuals.

Indeed the move to the new base has been funded thanks to the generosity of a donor who wishes to remain anonymous.

Project manager Susan Sadler said the charity was keen to recruit more people willing to host a young person and provide them with a roof over their heads.

She said this could be on a night by night basis or longer term.

Each young person is fully checked by the charity before being put forward to a host.

The grand opening will run from 1pm to 6pm and people interested in helping will have the chance to meet hosts, sponsors and staff.

Local MP Rachel Maclean will also be on hand for the ribbon cutting at 3.30pm.
