A REDDITCH decorator is bringing the spirit of Christmas to the town with his festive window displays.
Russell Jeavons lost his job as a painter and decorator earlier in the month and decided to use his time to bring some festive cheer to his neighbours by painting his windows.
His window display was so popular his neighbours were asking him to decorate their houses.
Since then he has been visiting businesses around Redditch and the surrounding areas spreading festive cheer with his art.
Russell said: “I just decided to keep going with my painting.
“I missed being creative, and thought this would be a great way to decorate my house.
“I never expected my creations to become so popular.
“I’ve been visiting houses around Redditch and Studley and people seem to love my art.”
Russell’s latest creation is a Christmas scene on the shop windows of Studley Florists.
He has started to document the process of creating his displays on Instagram with his videos becoming popular.
Russell added: “I start by sketching the design in my notepad and once I’m happy I then draw the design on the inside of the window.
“I then colour in the designs, bringing the art to life. I use pens that are safe for windows and can easily be removed after Christmas.”
It’s not just paintings Russel creates. For Lamberts Sales and Lettings in Studley he designed cardboard cut-outs of houses to display alongside the properties for sale.
He added: “I hope this inspires others to create and have fun with it.”
