Redditch Palace Theatre and Forge Mill Museum will not open this weekend

FORGE Mill Needle Museum and Redditch Palace Theatre will not be reopening on July 4 despite lockdown easing, Rubicon Leisure has confirmed.

Rubicon Leisure, which runs many leisure facilities in Redditch on behalf of the council, says it is taking extra precautionary steps during the pandemic.

Neither the Palace Theatre or Forge Mill have opening dates but Pitcheroak Golf Course and Arrow Valley Visitor Centre both opened in May.

It’s understood that the Palace Theatre is not opening because live performances are not yet allowed.

Measures had been put in place to open Abbey Stadium on July 4 but that has also been pushed back.

Rubicon’s business development manager, Matt Hartles, said: “However we are working on getting the outdoor bars opened at Arrow Valley Visitor Centre and Pitcheroak – both offering outdoor seating only.”
