Redditch PCSO brings successful 'Bridge the Gap' project to Church Hill

FOLLOWING up from a successful project in Headless Cross, PCSO Gemma Bosco-Woods has brought “Bridge the Gap” to Church Hill.

Joining teenage students with members of the over 65 community on a one to one basis in a relaxed setting was the idea from PCSO Bosco-Woods to break down barriers between the communities and build relationships.

She approached Church Hill Middle School who were keen to take part and also approached Rev. Ruth Fry from StAndrews Methodists Church to take part with members of the Church congregation.

PCSO Bosco-Woods said:  “I think it is important for all members of the community to see how others see life and respect each other’s outlooks.

“It’s great to see how much they have to talk about and what experiences and hobbies they have in common.”

The project has received great feedback and all involved said they would take part again, with the scheme running at Church Hill Middle School during the Autumn term.
