MOST people’s bodies begin to slow down by the time they reach their 80th birthday.
But not Redditch’s very own daredevil, Pat Nash, who recently stood on the wings of a Stearman biplane in aid of Parkinson’s UK.
Pat completed the ‘wing-walk’ several hundred feet above the Cotswold countryside last month after her original date with the clouds was cancelled due to wind and rain.
“When my 80th birthday came around I decided to do something a bit different,” said the chair of the Parkinson’s UK Redditch and Bromsgrove.
“I loved every second and I can’t wait to do it again.
“So far £3,500 has been raised for the charity.”
Branch meetings take place on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at the Rocklands Club in Birchfield Road, Redditch.
Pat added: “If you have Parkinson’s disease or are a carer for someone who suffers from it then feel free to call and check us out.
“You will find us a cheerful lot, always up for a laugh.”
