REDDITCH pensioners will be offered advice on how to stay safe at home at the next Older People’s Forum.
Police officers will be giving a talk on personal safety and taking note of residents’ concerns.
Chairman of Older People’s Forum, Pat Witherspoon, said she returned home some years ago to find a stranger walking out of her front door.
“He had just robbed my house, it certainly shook me up.
“I was also on the end of a nasty assault a year ago and it rocked my confidence for months.
“I’m afraid to go out at night now and it has affected the way I think.
“Older people are by far the most vulnerable in our society and that’s why it’s so important to attend meetings like this to share experiences and learn from them.”
The event will be held at the Ecumenical Centre on November 14 from 10.30am.
