Redditch pharmacy gears up to become Covid-19 'mass vaccination centre'

KNIGHTS Pharmacy head office in Palmers Road, Redditch, has been approved as a large vaccination site in the battle against Covid-19.

Knights, part of Redditch-based Lexon, will work in conjunction with the towns Primary Care Networks and other providers to ensure as many people as possible are vaccinated in line with NHS guidelines.

The site in Redditch is one of three company locations chosen to administer the vaccine – offices in the Leeds area and in County Durham will also be carrying out the innoculations.

The jabs will be given by Knights pharmacists and trained medical staff and it is estimated the Redditch site could provider up to 1,000 doses per week with capacity to take it to 2,000 if required.

Nitin Sodha of Knights Pharmacy, said: “ We want to play our part in overcoming this pandemic, and our teams are excited, and humbled by this opportunity.

“The booking of vaccinations will be via the national booking system with specific time slots and we would be obliged if people turn up within their time slot and not too early.

“There will be volunteer stewards to guide you outside the premises.”

He added that only those with a booking should present themselves and not arrive on the off chance they could get vaccinated.

“Our team have put in a substantial amount of work to make this possible, preparing all sites for the necessary NHS approval, and building well-trained teams to work throughout,” he said.
