A REDDITCH mum with a passion for photography has snapped up the top prize in a countywide competition.

Lynsey Duggins, aged 40, beat more than 100 entrants to win the Tourism Photo Competition for Worcestershire with her photo of the majestic ruined mansion, Witley Court.

The competition, organised by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce along with Visit Worcestershire and Visit Herefordshire, invited keen photographers to celebrate the beauty of the two counties.

The mum-of-four, who runs Lynsey Duggins Photography in Headless Cross, said: “It is really great to win the competition, I was dancing around the living room when I heard.

“I know a lot of amazing photographers that entered so I can’t believe it.

“As a photographer, my focus is mostly portraits, studio work and weddings, so I was pretty new to architectural photography and landscapes.

“We have got a wedding coming up at Whitley Church so we thought we would have a day out and look around. I had never been before but Whitley Court was so beautiful and I just wanted to capture that.”

The prizes for this year’s competition included one night’s dinner with bed and breakfast for two people at The Bank House Hotel and guest day passes at Wye Leisure, a one-night stay at the Green Man and tickets to Goodrich Castle.
