POLICE have praised the prompt action of a Studley resident which led to the arrest of three men on suspicion of going equipped to steal and being in possession of an offensive weapon.
The caller had reported the men, in a Volkswagen Passat, acting suspiciously by a house in the Crooks Lane / Toms Town Lane are of the village at around 3am on Friday, January 13.
The police safer neighbourhood team arrived promptly and were able to make the arrests.
A spokesperson said: “This was a good call by an observant member of the public, who was able to give good prompt information over the phone resulting in the three arrests, preventing a crime from occurring.
“If you see something suspicious ring us on 101 straight away and certainly while any persons or vehicles are still at the scene.”
