Redditch police raising the profile of its Safer Neighbourhood Teams

Redditch Editorial 8th May, 2018   0

WEST Mercia Police has launched a campaign to raise awareness of its Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) in Redditch, to ensure that all communities have easy access to their local police officers.

Every community has a local policing SNT which works with local people and partner organisations to identify and address specific local concerns, tackle crime and make communities safer.

Leaflets are being distributed to explain the services provided by SNTs and giving contact details so that anyone who needs advice or policing support can contact their local police officers. This information is also being made available at our front counters.

The campaign supports West Mercia Police’s ongoing work to improve the services provided to communities, including investment in technology to help local policing officers to be more available and visible on our streets, making it easier for people to contact us when they need our help and ensuring that everyone that needs help receives the right support as quickly as possible.

Assistant Chief Constable Martin Evans said: “West Mercia Police is committed to having local officers working locally with partners to help and support our communities.

“We are committed to improving the services we provide to ensure that everyone who needs our help receives the right support as quickly as possible. For example, we have invested in mobile technology so that our officers can be more available and visible to the public and to help us effectively investigate crimes and bring offenders to justice.”

Superintendent for North Worcestershire, Stacey Williamson, said; “Our Safer Neighbourhood Teams are based locally in stations around West Mercia and focus on matters that are important to each local community.

“I would encourage anyone needing advice on reducing crime and protecting themselves, their family and property, to contact our teams directly to make an appointment. Individual contact details are visible in our front counters, making our staff accessible to all.”

To report a crime call 101 or in an emergency always call 999.
