REDDITCH is gearing up for the hottest day of the year this week as temperatures hit around 30C.
It will be a welcome change for many residents who have had enough of the thunderstorms and gales seen over the last two weeks.
Highs of 29C and 30C are expected on Wednesday and Thursday before the temperature drops slightly ahead of the weekend.
The Met Office has predicted a heatwave for many parts of the UK.
To qualify as a heatwave, temperatures matching or exceeding 25 – 28C (77-82.4F) have to be recorded over three consecutive days.
