A REDDITCH pub has raised a knockout amount for Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital through a charity boxing event.
The Cricketers Arms held the event in June with local boxers getting in the ring to raise much-needed funds.
In total, £4,500 was generated through the event and donations from local businessmen including Kenny Hadley Jr, Mark Dawson, Adie Holmes, Chris Rogers and Carl Andrews.
Cricketers Arms’ owner Tim Piper said he was now hopeful of repeating the successful event next year.
“I’d like to thank all the boxers and spectators – it was a brilliant event and it was phenomenal to raise so much for a great cause.
“People were treated to a real spectacle and we’d like to continue to hold other events like this to help charities in the future.”
