CHILDREN at Abbeywood RSA Academy First School had a very special visitor on Wednesday when Pudsey Bear popped in to see the pupils.

To celebrate the occasion the school hoisted the skull and crossbones for a fund-raising sail around the Spanish Main dressed as pirates with all money raised going into Pudsey’s treasure chest for Children in Need.

And needless to say a grand time was had by all, with an amazing £431.14p collected for the worthy cause made up of nearly £200 from a cake sale and the rest from donated pennies and pounds.

Head of School Dina Frost said: “Once again our parents have been absolutely fantastic, the children were over the moon to meet Pudsey and I think in the end they were all really proud of what they’d achieved.”
