TWO devoted servants of Redditch were remembered at the authority’s full council meeting on Monday night, January 29.
A minute’s silence was held in memory of former Councillor Brenda Quinney who died earlier this month and for Jenny Delorenzo, a devoted support manager at the authority who had passed away only the night before aged just 37 from cancer.
Councillors took it in turns to remember warm anecdotes about Mrs Quinney with Coun Gay Hopkins saying: “She was a woman who always wanted the best for Redditch and this is a sadder place without her.”
Sue Hanley, deputy chief executive of the authority, spoke of the devastation felt by all staff at the loss of Jenny Delorenzo: “She was a customer support manager working in Redditch and Bromsgrove from 2015, having previously worked in the housing strategy team.
“She was very young and will be deeply missed by all who knew and worked with her.”
