Redditch residents reminded that ten minutes walking makes a difference

A BRISK 10 minute walk every day is changing the life of the man in charge of Worcestershire health and wellbeing portfolio.

“I’m surprised that just 10 minutes of exercise a day can make you feel so good,” said Councillor John Smith who committed to Active 10 campaign last month.

Every day, Coun Smith has been walking briskly for ten minutes, whether that’s while at work, home or on holiday.

“I’ve really noticed the difference,” he said.

“I’m not so short of breath, don’t get as tired quickly and best yet, can walk briskly for longer now,” he added.

“I’m surprised that just ten minutes of exercise a day can make you feel so good and I’m interested to see how walking for longer will make me feel.

“I’ll certainly be committing to longer walks now and monitoring my health on an ongoing basis.

“It’s never too late to start being active, and I encourage everyone in Worcestershire, particularly those who don’t do any exercise, to get out and try their brisk ten minutes.”

The free Active 10 app monitors your daily movements and shows how much brisk walking you’re doing daily.
