Redditch residents told: Help is at hand to help your mental health thrive

ARE you surviving or thriving? That is the question being asked about people’s mental health during national awareness raising week which ends this Sunday (May 14).

NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is supporting Mental Health Awareness Week which this year aims to advise people on what they can do to look after their mental health and how to cope with the demands of everyday life.

The week is being run by the Mental Health Foundation and hopes to open up a conversation about whether people are surviving or thriving and what people can do to bring about change.

Dr Richard Davies, chair and clinical lead for NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG said: “A lot of people have incredibly busy lives and can find that the demands of their everyday activities can get on top of them.

“Many people take action to improve their physical health, such as stopping smoking, drinking less alcohol or exercising more, but it’s just as important to ensure you’re taking time to look after your mental health too.

“Mental Health Awareness Week is a great opportunity to stop and assess whether there are steps that can be taken to look after your mental health better.”
