REDDITCH Round Table have made sure the Christmas party for users of the Worcestershire Paediatric Diabetes Service is a sparkling affair after stepping forward to fund the entire event.
This not only includes the entertainment but gifts for each child as well.
“When we were approached by one of the mums, Zoe, we came together as a group and decided we wanted to help fund the whole Christmas party,” said Dan Buckley, chairman of Redditch Round Table.
“Christmas holds a special place in our hearts in the Round Table family, and to be able to help the Paediatric Diabetes Service and the parents support group was something we felt very strongly about.
“It is an absolute pleasure to help them put this on.”
Redditch Round Table is always looking for ways to help our community, and anyone who knows of projects or charities and groups that could benefit from their support visit www.roundtable.co.uk or call 0121 456 4567.
Type 1 diabetes is an auto-immune disorder and requires insulin replacement treatment by multiple daily injections or an insulin pump for life.
Donations to the Paediatric Diabetes Service means they can subsidise the cost or pay for a programme of extracurricular events every year, such as the Christmas party, or a residential activity weekend for eight to 13-year-olds and a teenage activity day.
