REDDITCH Round table has donated £850 to a Redditch BMX club to help with the cost of equipment.

Redditch Premiers BMX Club hope the cash raised will enable it to take part in more competitions and support the young people it trains.

Andy from the charity said: “We are so happy to help in any small way for such a great cause in our local community.

“We look forward to hearing more about the competitions they are able to take part in over the coming year and how this helps the club to move forwards.

“Best of luck to everyone at the club, we look forward to hearing from you soon.”

Chairman of the Redditch Round Table, Rory O’Neill, said: “We are so happy to be able to help such a great local group, so many kids from Redditch get to come down and have a go at BMX riding on the track which is amazing.

“Being able to support local clubs like and giving back to the community whenever we can this is what it’s all about, and we look forward to helping more groups, clubs and local charities throughout the entire year.

“Our help doesn’t just stop at the financial side of things, we also try to get stuck in and lend a hand when needed.”

The branch is a charitable organisation which aims to help the local community and is part of the national organisation the ‘Round Table Great Britain and Ireland’.

Redditch is renowned across the UK as having one of the best BMX tracks in the country which has catapulted more than 20 riders into representing the town at national level.

A club spokesperson said: “We’re really grateful for the funding and it will go a long way to help improve the facilities.

“We have got a fantastic track and anyone is welcome to come down and have a go.”
