ST AUGUSTINE’S Catholic High School has been congratulated by the Minister of State for Schools on the students have made from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4.
The Stonepits Lane school received a letter from Nick Gibb MP last week, praising headteacher Tony Quinn and his staff for the school’s excellent ‘value added’ score in 2015.
Mr Gibb also congratulated the school on its placement in the ‘top 100 non-selective state-funded schools in England’, based on the Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 ‘value added measure’.
The recognition comes after St Augustine’s scooped the title of Best Performing School in Redditch for GCSEs and A-Levels last summer – with 69 per cent of its students achieving five or more A* to C grades.
Mr Gibb’s praise acknowledges the summer’s results showed St Augustine’s children had made more than the expected level of progress from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4.
It is believed this is the first time has received such an accolade.
