Redditch school installs barriers to keep children safe while work is carried out

Redditch Editorial 26th Jun, 2023   0

A TEMPORARY safety barrier has been installed outside Holyoakes First School in Redditch.

The measure has been taken after issues with parking at the school, as well as safety concerns being raised by parents.

The barrier, which will be in place from 2.30pm to 3.05pm from Monday to Friday, is being used to prevent traffic from accessing the area immediately outside of the school. The solution allows parents to be able to safely drop off and pick up their children from school.

Holyoakes’ headteacher Tamsin Koser said: We’re pleased to be working with Persimmon Homes, local ward and county councillors, the Leader of Redditch Borough Council and Rachel Maclean MP to find a temporary solution to the parking issue and we would like to thank road users for their patience during this time.”

Redditch MP Rachel Maclean added: “By working together and focusing on what’s possible, a practical and workable solution has been found which will ensure children can be safely dropped off and collected from school.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved who has made this happen.”
