Redditch school uniform bank hailed a success as families flock to centre

THIS year’s Redditch Labour Party School Uniform Bank has been hailed as a huge success, after highest number yet of parents turned up needing help.

“At one point the Ecumenical Centre was so packed with parents and children that we became a little overwhelmed by the amount of people who were struggling here in Redditch,” said the organiser, Councillor Joe Baker (Lab, Greeenlands)

He added that it was noticeable that this year more people from working families had attended.

“This is evidence that this Tory Government and its policies are now hurting a wider spectrum of people,” said Coun Baker.

“However we will be here to help. A big thank you goes to everyone who put their time and effort into making this year’s event a success – Redditch Labour Party members, volunteers and the Redditch Labour Party PPC.

“Thanks to for all the help and donations from Diamond Buses, Omega Therapies, the Ecumenical Centre, Inspire Community Group Winyates, The Green Willow Healing Centre, and many of of local schools and parents. Well done Redditch!”
