CHILDREN from Holyoakes Field First School in Redditch performed a variety of seasonal songs to former teaching and assistant teaching staff and ex-pupils during a festive afternoon.
Among the Christmas classics performed by the Key Stage 2 pupils were ‘White Christmas’, ‘12 days of Christmas’ and ‘Marshmallow World’, along with ‘I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas’.
They also performed the poem ‘T’was the Night before Christmas’ and some of the pupils played the recorder to ‘Jingle bells’ and ‘Sing a Song for Winter’.
Among the former teaching pupils was Barbara Bakewell who attended Holyoakes Field School over 90 years ago.
Coun Lucy Harrison, the school CEO and School Improvement Advisor also attended.
Holyoakes Field’s assistant headteacher Rachel Cerrone said: “The children performed brilliantly and all of the visitors were very impressed.
“They also commented how it made them feel festive and definitely got them into the Christmas spirit.
“Our CEO Adrian Ward said he was very proud of the pupils’ wonderful performance.
“The children had worked very hard learning all of the songs and it most definitely got everyone body in the festive spirit.”
