SCHOOLS in Worcestershire are to receive a £34 million funding boost.
The total funding for schools in the county will rise from £498.6 million in 2022/23 to £532.6 million in 2023/24.
There is also additional Government funding of £14 million, announced in the Autumn Statement, to support financial pressures within the county’s schools.
Redditch MP Rachel Maclean has welcomed the funding.
She said she can been lobbying for more funding for Redditch’s schools a top priority since she was elected.
As well as successfully securing more funding, Arrow Vale High School has also been selected as one of the latest 239 schools that will be rebuilt or substantially refurbished as part of the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme.
Mrs Maclean said: “As a proud product of the state school system myself, ensuring everyone, no matter their background, has a first class education is personal for me.
“The significant increase in the Schools Block Dedicated Schools Grant this year demonstrates that I’m delivering on another promise that I’ve made to my constituents. It will ensure young people”
