SIX Redditch scouts attended the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia after receiving a cash boost from Persimmon Homes South Midlands.
The housebuilder donated £1,000 to Redditch District Scouts as part of its ‘Community Champions’ scheme, where it donates up to £2,000 to community groups each month.
The World Scout Jamboree is an educational event that brings together the world’s young people to promote peace and mutual understanding and to develop leadership and life skills.
Scouts Charlotte Cockram, Ben Bisson, Alexander Matters, Kinga Greda, Charlotte Lang and Matthew Stanley were chosen to go to the event in July.
Scouts spokesman Peter Nash said: “They are wonderful individuals and we are proud that they represented Redditch scouting at such a prestigious event.”
Amanda Rogers, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “We strongly believe in supporting the communities where we build, and we were delighted to help the Redditch scouts.”
