Farmfoods reveals its plans for new Redditch store in former Lidl building

Redditch Editorial 16th Nov, 2023 Updated: 17th Nov, 2023   0

REDDITCH is set to get a new Farmfoods supermarket in the building the former Lidl used too occupy.

Signage has already gone up on the large building on The Grove Street Retail Park – next to Dunelm – along with another sign on the B4160 Redditch Ringway.

Workers are busy in the building installing shelving and other features.

The company, which has its head office in Birmingham, has confirmed to the Standard it will open at 8am on December 1.

A Farmfoods spokesperson said: “The shop will be more than three times the size of our former shop nearby in the Kingfisher Centre and will therefore offer our full range of branded and own-brand products including frozen food, groceries, chilled foods, bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables along with a range of household and other items.

“The new location benefits from a large free customer car park and will be open seven-days-a-week.”

The company also confirmed its existing shop in the Kingfisher Centre will close on November 26 with a 50 per cent discount sale from all stock on that day.

All the staff from that store will be transferring and, the firm added, extra jobs would also be created. But it is not confirming how many at this time.

Customers can visit farmfoods.co.uk for more offers and to sign up for money-off vouchers.
