A REDDITCH medium has written a second poetry anthology using messages she claims she received from the late Poet Laureate Ted Hughes.
Gill Pakes, from Crabbs Cross, said she was used to receiving messages from spirits but was surprised when she was given words that made no sense.
She said: “I brushed them off but they kept coming, in the end I wrote them down.
“When I read them back I was stunned to see a poem; not only that, the words looked like a spiritual message.
“I put it on Facebook to see if anyone could understand these words and was amazed to see someone could.
“I wrote more with the help of my spirit guide as I can’t and have never written poetry, but I wanted to know who the poems were from.”
Gill said she asked her spirits who was behind the poems and got the name Ted Hughes.
That was back in March 2023, now Gill has put pen to paper again to write a second anthology.
Hughes was regarded as one of the best poet’s in his generation and died in 1998.
She added: “With spiritualism as it is today with more people believing in it, I thought the poems could bring comfort.
“It lets people know we have loved ones watching over us all the time, sometimes they are not who we expect them to be.”
The book – ‘A Poem From David and Other Departures’ – is available on Amazon.
Gill said: “I have sold some books already and have had some great feedback from readers.
“Ted’s last book, Birthday Letters, was an anthology of poems in the form of short stories that happened throughout his and [wife] Sylvia’s life.
“A very interesting man and I’m proud to deliver his poems to people.”
Since her first anthology, Gill has had people asking about a second book.
She said: “People who bought the book felt their loved ones close to them as they read my book. They felt comforted by it knowing they are still around.
“I still don’t know of another medium doing this and I feel great joy I can bring comfort to others.”
