Redditch teen paints on rocks to raise cash for Royal British Legion

A TEENAGER from Redditch is raising money for the Royal British Legion by painting rocks with Remembrance Day poppies.

Enfield Road resident Molly Banks took up painting during lockdown to bring a smile to people’s faces.

She would paint inspirational quotes, Disney characters, animals and video games on the rocks found near her home.

But the 18-year-old recently decided she would turn her hobby into raising cash for The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Her brother Oliver, who is in the British Army, said: “Molly is doing them all from her room at home.

“She has been offering them to people in her area in exchange for a small donation in return.

“Colleagues of mine have been asking to buy the rocks which is amazing and makes me so proud.

“And the good thing about them is that they’re good for the environment, as the paint eventually wears off.”

If you are interested in buying one of the rocks, you can message Molly on her Facebook page – http://www.facebook.com/mishymoo2002
