STAFF at Redditch’s Tesco superstore have donated £1,000 to local charities in celebration of its recent revamp.
The Tesco store on Coldfield Drive gave £500 to the Primrose Choir, which performed and welcomed customers to the newly-refurbished store, and another £500 to the Alexandra Hospital, a cause close to the hearts of many staff and customers at the supermarket.
The Primrose Choir, which raises money for the Primrose Hospice, was warmly welcomed by Tesco staff who treated them to glasses of champagne and orange juice.
Store manager Kevin Wright said: “I’d like to thank the Primrose Choir and Pat Hadley from the Alexandra Hospital for coming down to make the relaunch a really special occasion.
“We would also like to thank our customers for their patience and loyalty during the redevelopment work.”
