Redditch Tinseltown confirms sudden closure

Redditch Editorial 2nd Feb, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

THE TOWN’S popular Tinseltown American diner has closed its doors for the final time.

The eatery, which doubles as a milkshake bar, has been welcoming customers for a little over a year after it joined the ranks in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre’s Hub in November 2014.

Visitors enjoyed traditional booth seating and multiple flat screen TVs playing music videos during their dining experience as a modern twist to the all-American diner.

A spokesperson for Tinseltown confirmed the sudden closure today (February 2).

“Although we are sad to leave, we are pleased to have been in the early stages of the Hub and see the centre go from strength to strength.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the Kingfisher, our staff, the people of Redditch and we look forward to expanding our business portfolio in 2016.

“We have some great employees and will be working with the Kingfisher management team to highlight any alternative employment opportunities for them in and around Redditch.’”

Ken Williams, general manager at the Kingfisher, added his focus remains on securing new shops and restaurants for the shopping centre.

“Since we launched the Hub and carried out a series of improvements around the centre, we have seen footfall grow steadily and have had some great feedback from our shoppers.

“We are delighted that the changes we have made have been so well received and are keen to build on that success,” he said.
