Redditch to celebrate Heritage Open Day in style with a host of attractions

Redditch Editorial 8th Sep, 2022   0

VENUES across Redditch are opening their doors for this year’s Heritage Open Days with a range of activities for all ages and a chance to discover the story behind our historic churches and the communities they serve.

This year Redditch, part of the new North East Worcestershire (NEW) Cultural Compact, will be joining forces with neighbouring localities to share their history and culture as part of the annual Heritage Open Days.

Redditch will be taking part through a number of short talks, exhibitions, children’s activities, and open days, across a number of venues, including St Stephen’s Church and Redditch Local History Museum.

There will also be free entry to Forge Mill Needle Museum.

Portfolio holder for leisure and Cultural Services, Coun Jo Beecham, said: “As a town, Redditch might be much younger than some of our neighbours, but we still have lots of history to share. This is your chance to celebrate the heritage of Redditch, try new experiences and explore the culture on your doorstep.”

The open days, which will take place from Friday 9th to Sunday 18th September, are being promoted by Redditch Borough Council and have been organised by partners in the new Worcestershire Cultural Compact and other cultural destinations across Redditch.
