REDDITCH is poised to say goodbye to the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) in favour of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP.
The borough is currently a member of both but the government has ruled that a local authority cannot be in two LEPs.
Councillor Matt Dormer, the Leader of Redditch Borough Council said Redditch had been a member of GBSLEP when there hadn’t been a Worcestershire LEP which they’d joined as a secondary.
“I liken it to a cricket match,” he said.
“LEPs are a conduit for funding, and with Greater Birmingham and Solihull you have someone who bats for England on your side.”
