NEW and expectant parents, carers and guardians can help give their children the best start in life by attending Redditch Borough Council’s Starting Well event next week.
Residents who are expecting or parents/carers of babies and young children are encouraged to attend the event which will provide help and advice as well as some fun activities.
Th event, which will run between 10am and 12.30pm on Tuesday (March 22) at the Town Hall, will provide parents-to-be with a range of information including healthy habits, preparing for birth and beyond, babies development and family finances.
Advice on dental health, bonding with your baby, two-year childcare funding, home safety and breastfeeding support will also be on offer.
Along with information stands, there will be free snacks, the chance to have a go at bounce and rhyme sessions and kinder gym, the smoothie bike, face painting and some pampering for mums.
Mayor of Redditch, councillor Pattie Hill, said: “Being an expectant parent or the parent of a newborn can be very scary.
“t’s a world of unknown’s when it comes to children, but there are people there to help.
“Pop along to our event, meet other new parents and throw whatever questions you might have in our direction – there will be plenty of experts on hand to help as well as lots of fun activities to get involved in.”
