Redditch triplets make football history

A FOOTBALL mad family made their own little bit of history recently when triplets Harry, Jim and George Rowand all played in the same school team together for the first time in a national competition.
The trio of 11-year-olds attend St Bedes Middle School on Studley Road and played in the victory over Birmingham-based Baverstock School.
Mum Rebecca said: “I was bursting with pride. They did fantastically well with Jim in defence, Harry in goal and George in midfield – he scored a goal too.
“Jim and George play for Redditch United juniors so I was particularly pleased for Harry in goal as it’s been hard for him to break into the team.”
George is already a rising star thanks to his prowess at Thai Boxing and Rebecca added that with all three lads supporting different Premiership clubs the atmosphere can be ‘quite electric’ in their Enfield home.
“It’s a lads thing, they all want to be footballers when they grow up.”
