A REDDITCH charity has hailed its open afternoon a success.
Redditch u3a is part of a national and international voluntary learning co-operative whose aim is to encourage lifelong learning for mature people.
It was set up in 1991 as a self-help group, to provide educational, creative, leisure and social activities for members of the community no longer in full-time employment and who may be missing the stimulation and social opportunities which work afforded.
The event at The Bridge Church Community Hall highlighted the different groups available and to get people involved.
A spokesperson for the charity said deputy mayor, Coun David Munro, was welcomed warmly, alongside prospective and existing members.
They chatted informally to representatives of 24 of its interest groups.
