REDDITCH United are the latest to install a bleed kit thanks to Anti-knife crime activist Pete Martin.
Pete started a campaign named “#DropTheKnife” in response to his best friend being stabbed multiple times, who fortunately survived the attack.
He wanted to raise awareness of knife crime and does so in many different ways.
Pete educates lots of local schools about knife crime and self defence, he runs boxing sessions at his gym as well as a “Jab Don’t Stab” referral scheme which offers free 1-2-1 training classes to vulnerable, disadvantaged, and young people in danger of offending, as well as much more.
The bleed kits are endorsed by The West Midlands Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson from the club said: “As our bleed kit is now registered, we will show up on the national database if someone rings 999 in need of one.
“We of course don’t ever hope to use it, but we are glad we are now equipt with one in case it is required.
“Peter has kindly agreed to give the Redditch United staff a training session on how to use the bleed kit and will give a presentation on knife crime to our Football & Education students soon.”
