A BRAND new playground for the children of Cookhill was unveiled this week and is already being enjoyed by those who live in the area.
The parish council was awarded two sets of funding from Wychavon district council this year via the New Homes Bonus Scheme and the Section 106 Fund, allowing them to install a selection of adult exercise equipment and to update the children’s play equipment at the council’s playing field site on the Evesham Road.
The adult gym equipment has been in use for some time already, but the newly updated children’s play are was greeted with enthusiasm by residents and members of the Tiny Tribes nursery who came along to try it out.
The new area boasts brand new goal posts and even a table tennis table and a spokesperson for the parish council said: “We are really pleased with the improved facilities and are delighted to see them already being so well used and appreciated by the people in the Cookhill community.”
