REDDITCH woman Hilda Clulow is now the oldest person in Britain after 112-year-old Gwen Payne passed away last month.
Bowood Court and Mews Care Home resident Hilda, aged 111, was born on Sunday, March 15, 1908.
She has been retired for a staggering 51 years after working as a dressmaker in Balsall Heath.
Care home manager Dawn Leaver said: “We are very proud of our lovely Hilda.
“We would like to congratulate her on reaching 111-years-young and on the fact that she is now the oldest resident in the UK.
“Hilda is a lovely, kind lady who loves her family.”
In March, Hilda celebrated her birthday by surrounding herself with family, including seven grandchildren.
