AN 11-year-old footballer from Redditch is seeking sponsorship to enable him to compete in an international youth football tournament in Barcelona.
Billy Jeavons, has been selected to travel with his team in March to compete against youth sides from across Europe.
It is a significant achievement for the young player who is known for his talent, dedication and passion for the beautiful game.
Football is Billy’s life – he trains regularly, plays with enthusiasm and commitment and is widely recognised for his natural ability and strong team spirit.
But the cost of travel, accommodation, tournament fees and kit means additional support is needed to make his opportunity possible.
Billy’s mum, Kerry Murphy, said the experience would be incredibly valuable for her son and highlighted the wider importance.
“Sport plays such an important role for boys.
“It encourages them to stay active, spend time outdoors, and learn how to work as part of a team. Team sports build confidence, resilience and a real sense of belonging.
“Football means everything to Billy and he works so hard at it.
“Taking part in an international tournament at his age would be a wonderful experience for him, and we would be extremely grateful for any support that might help him take part.”
Local businesses, organisations and community members are being urged consider sponsoring Billy’s journey.
Contributions of any size would help towards the trip’s costs and be acknowledged through team communications, social media mentions and logo placement on training wear where appropriate.
