REDDITCH youngsters will go sowing the seeds of hope after triumphing in a new initiative from the town’s Morrisons supermarket by the Warwick Highway.
The store’s community champion Bev Allington has been busy handing out packets of mini sunflower seeds to any customer who wanted them while stocks lasted. The idea is to give hope with the country coming out of lockdown as well as spreading a little bit of community spirit and sunshine.
“We as a company try to encourage young children to get involved with helping the area they live in and we asked people to nominate their ‘sunshine star’,” said Bev.
“We were given four names of young people who our store think are a wonderful example for doing charity work or supporting the community during Covid and we were able to give them a little trophy and a hamper for each to go home with as a thank you.”
