BIG-hearted baker Diane Driscoll has raised an amazing £2,163 during her year fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Vicarage Crescent resident’s latest cake sale earlier this month smashed her previous record bringing in £640 alone to add to her running total.

“I was exhausted at the end of the day, I was like a zombie but I had a lot of friends who helped me and who helped clean up as well,” said Diane.

The dedicated fundraiser has won the hearts of local people and businesses with support coming from major companies like Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury’s as well as local firms like Bruno’s Bakery of Studley and a host of friends and family.

“I don’t just do cakes but there’s a big raffle, a nearly new rail, anything really that will bring the money in for Macmillan – I even did a gammon on the day,” said Diane.

“I also get a lot of help, so thank you to everyone.”
