A RESIDENT at a Redditch care home celebrated her 100th birthday, attributing her long life to ‘being happy’.
Marjorie Millet, known as Madge to her friends and family, was originally from Port Talbot, south Wales, but moved to Parklands Care Home four years ago to be nearer to her son.
For her special day, Madge was treated to a scrumptious lunch at Stanbrook Abbey, with close family and friends – some who travelled down from Port Talbot.
She also had a special Birthday Buffet Tea spread at Parklands with her friends at the home and had the customary royal card.
Madge said: “I’m thrilled to receive a birthday card from King Charles and Queen Camilla and will cherish it forever.”
Madge spends her time involved in activities in the home, including art with Creative Mojo, or singing along with Reminiscing.
She enjoys joining in bingo, watching old films, the theatre outings the home organises and going out for lunch with her family.
