Redditch's top achievers recognised at business awards

SOME of the town’s top achievers were honoured on Sunday at the inaugural Redditch Business Awards.

The red-carpet event at the Palace Theatre was organised by Redditch BID, with 250 people attending the ceremony to enjoy entertainment from D-Day Darlings, Britains Got Talent’s Twist & Pulse and Shaun Paul Smith Dance Academy.

There were nine categories up for grabs on the night along with two community awards highlighting an outstanding contribution to Redditch.

Wendyhouse Painting and Decorating scooped independent business of the year, while the best customer service prize went to Muffin Break Redditch.




New business of the year went to OLAWA craft bakery, while Leander Odell from Kingfisher guest services took home the employee of the year award.

The creative business of the year award went to Cake Creations and Building Bridges Redditch was recognised as the charity of the year for its outstanding contribution to the town.


Isaac Winfield claimed Young Person of the Year in recognition of his remarkable achievements through his Food Bank.

Employer of the Year went to Bainbridge Optometrists, who were shortlisted in three categories overall.

And Rilys restaurant was named Business of the Year, with the community awards picked up by Martin Jenkins for Outstanding contribution to Redditch and Pete Martin for the towns Community Hero.

Muj Rahman, Redditch BID manager said: “It was an incredible evening at the Redditch business awards and heart-warming to see the emotions as the winners went on stage to pick up their accolades. Redditch has a thriving business community, and we must showcase the best performers at every opportunity.”

“This event provided a unique opportunity to celebrate the visionaries, the entrepreneurs and the role models whose achievements will provide the benchmarks for us all to aspire to.

“I am extremely proud to be part of this community and I hope to continue developing our town through the work we do at Redditch BID.”
