TRINITY High School has been selected to be the Lead School to host ‘Worcestershire Girls Can 2018’ campaign in Redditch.

The town centre school triumphed in the competitive application and it means that from March 19–23 Trinity will host a number of schools across Redditch, with the aim of encouraging more girls to take part in sport and activities.

This will be an opportunity for students to take part in a number of alternative sports and activities such as Glow in the Dark Fitness.

The Girls Can project offers an exciting opportunity for young people to be part of a nationwide campaign which is funded by the National Lottery and developed by Sport England.

There will also be the opportunity to become student ambassadors, to help in leading the campaign and inspiring others to take part.

Headteacher Adrian Ward said: “We are very excited about this campaign which is about creating a positive experience of sport and exercise for girls. “There were a number of applications for this and Trinity was judged to have really captured the purpose of the campaign and therefore chosen to be the lead school in Redditch.

“My thanks to our PE department for their passion and drive to secure this prestigious honour.”
