A REDDITCH charity have been digging deep for treasure to support Children in Need this year.
Where Next, based in Easemore Road, responded to a plea put out by BBC Hereford and Worcester for someone to build them a huge treasure chest to be placed in their reception area for people to put Children in Need donations in.
After hearing the appeal on the Malcolm Boyden show, site manager Nikki Levy got in touch and was surprised to get a call from Malcolm himself while live on air.
Malcom then visited the Redditch site during production of the 4ft by 2ft MDF trunk and the team from Where Next delivered the finished chest to the BBC in Worcester on November 17.
The team had designed and built the box from scratch – all in just three weeks and a Where Next spokesperson said: “Where Next Industries had great pleasure in supporting this appeal by both donating and making the treasure chest at their Millsborough House site.
“It was all very exciting for the team involved and is a great example of one charity helping out another.”
Where Next also has a site at Spernal and provides work experience and training for people who are disadvantaged or who have learning disabilities.
