THE Redi Centre has launched an appeal for more volunteers to help run its its broad range of clubs for young people and adults alike.
The South Street organisation plays a vital role in the social fabric of the town providing everything from youth clubs to trips out and computer classes for seniors – as well as a host of programmes in between.
And organiser Steve Rafferty says great fun is guaranteed for those stepping forward to enjoy the rewards of a fulfilling pastime.
Not only that but if people have particular area of interest they’d have the opportunity to roll it out for other people to enjoy.
“We do try and keep youngsters as active as possible by putting things on like drama and dance so and if a volunteer is keen to put something in particular on we can accommodate that,” said Steve.
Talking about the Junior Youth Club (Thursdays, 6pm to 7.30pm) he added: “It can be hard work and noisy but that’s part of the fun and it is tremendously rewarding.”
The Redi Centre runs a Senior Youth Club on Mondays and Fridays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for young people aged 12 and over.
There’s a Good Time Club for anyone aged over 12 who may have a learning difficulty and / or a disability on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm with the Junior Youth Club running on Thursdays.
Every other Wednesday there’s an Arts and Crafts session from 6pm to 7.30pm which is open to all ages although under eights must be accompanied by an adult.
