RESIDENTS in Church Hill are being invited to remember loved ones they have sadly lost by putting their name on a bauble to hang on the tree in the centre.
The initiative comes from Church Hill Big Local whose community co-ordinator Chris Thomas said: “We felt this was particularly poignant this year with the situation going on in the world, and also for Church Hill Big Local as a group with the sad passing of our Chair, Wendy Johnson.”
People can fill out a form online to leave the names of loved ones at: https://chbl.org.uk/memorial-tree/ or if they had no access to the internet, they can use the book of remembrance in St Andrews Church. The closing date is December 15.
“We have been surprised by the interest and the amount of people that have put names forward, to date there have been over 150,” said Chris.
“We are glad that this has been so well received by the community and hope it brings a bit of positivity in these times.”
