“REMARKABLE, brave and admirable” – this is how Redditch’s Amy Kearney will be remembered by her family, friends and those who knew her.
Amy, who despite having severe disabilities, tirelessly campaigned for local hospital services alongside her mum, Colette Kearney, and was a regular face at public meetings.
The much-loved 20-year-old passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, with her family at her side.
Colette said: “Amy had a wonderful character and she was a very special and brave girl. In every possible way, she helped and gave support to local causes, spreading the message about the importance of local services in Redditch.
“Despite Amy’s short life and profound disability she played an active part in campaigning to save the children’s ward at the Alexandra Hospital.
“She touched many lives and we’re very proud of her.”
